When planting trees in pots, part of the growing process is to shake them. The shaking of the young trees helps the roots to grow stronger and deeper. You would think we would protect these trees and keep them safe, however, we put them through the “storms of life” …. the wind, the rain, the hurricanes of our existence to make them grow stronger. This is in fact an exact metaphor for our own personal lives. It is through trite that we preserve. It is through the difficulties and challenges and obstacles of the crises’ of our lives that our roots grow stronger and we build a more solid, deeper foundation.
We only get one chance at this thing called life. Go rock it!

It’s always amazing to me how persistent trees are when growing in some of the most unlikely cliffs and rocky places. It’s certainly the toughest experiences that have made me grow the most in my life!
